DIY Headboard heaven tutorials

Recently I have completely fallen in love with statement headboards, particularly the oversized channelled tufted ones. You can see why I am obsessed over these headboards right? They expand the entire room width creating an elegant backdrop for the dream bed. This is the place we spend half of our lives so why shouldn't it be glamorous as well as comfy. The bed is the focal point of the bedroom, it's not a small purchase so you want to make sure you buy the right one, or in this case create the right one. As we only brought our bed frame recently I am not sure the boyfriend would be best pleased if I suddenly sprung this DIY task upon him any time soon, but I was curious to see how you would make one and if it was really complicated. Seeing as many of us couldn't afford to have a custom-made bed I have sourced a number of simple and helpful step by step guides to create your own holy grail custom headboard.

As you can see making your own headboard could be the perfect solution if you want your bed to sit under a window, it opens up the options to change the layout of the room. See Brady's DIY channel tufted headboard step by step guide here.

Bianca Hall has created the same headboard from Brady's guide but instead of using plain fabric she has used this stunning marbled pattern, making the headboard look unique and next level luxurious.

If you're looking for gilts and glamour then this art deco headboard tutorial is the one for you here. Jewel has created a bed with wow factor, one that I would imagine costs a small fraction of the price compared to buying a headboard like this.

These headboards are great for smaller spaces too, they use the entire space without compromising the footprint of the room.

What surprised me was that the process really isn't as hard as I thought it might be. I hope you find this post helpful, I certainly will when I get around to making my own heavenly headboard! I think it's time for me to buy a stable gun and reupholster some smaller items in the meantime.
